Mia Cross is the teenage daughter of Bill Cross, with whom Hank Moody unwittingly had sex with in the Pilot. Hank subsequently wrote a book on this, which Mia stole and adapted and has published as her own. Hank found himself revisiting this uncomfortable mistake in a later season, when he ultimately stood trial for his encounter with Mia in the pilot.
